Sunday, May 16, 1:30pm: Movie: Fatima in St. James Church. We hope you can join us!

As Protector of the Holy Family, who better to invite into our homes than St. Joseph. St. Joseph is silent in Scripture; he doesn’t impose himself on us. So we must invite him in. Our invitation to St. Joseph is to contemplate with him his foster Son, Jesus. Whether new to St. Joseph or having a relationship with him already, all persons will benefit from inviting St. Joseph in and seeking his intercession.

Our parish has put together a kit containing a St. Joseph statue, a nine day Novena and Prayer booklet, and a book, entitled St. Joseph and His World, for anyone who is interested in becoming closer to St. Joseph. This kit may be picked up at the parish office.

If you are interested in bringing St. Joseph into your home for a two-week period, you can register by calling Faye LaBarr at                 (585) 482-3596.

Make a commitment to get to know St. Joseph better and become closer to Jesus. This is something you can do in your home at your own pace.

Mark: The Gospel Through the Eyes of Peter by Catholic Scripture Study International/St. Benedict Press

The gospel of Mark has long been regarded as the authoritative teaching of Peter, composed by his follower, Mark. This study is a deep dive into this most foundational book of the Bible. Catholic Scripture Study at its finest.

In this engaging eighteen-week study, join Fr. Patrick Winslow, JCL, and Michael Pakaluk, PhD, as they examine this compelling introduction to the Christ. See Jesus through the eyes of Peter. Experience him first as a “worker of mighty deeds” who expels demons and heals the sick, who teaches that the Kingdom of God has arrived in power. And learn with Peter why it was necessary for the Christ to suffer.

In Mark you will find:

Extensive commentary that opens up the meaning of the entire biblical text

Powerful teaching videos with an in-depth look at a particular passage each week

Questions to help you reflect on the biblical text and how to apply it to your life

Supplemental readings from the Catechism, Church teachings, and the saints

And much, much more!

This fascinating, compelling study of Mark: The Gospel through the Eyes of Peter is a life-changing experience of following Christ as an original disciple. Like those disciples, you will hear the Lord’s call—and understand it like never before—so that you can go out into the world as His follower and tell the Good News.
