Peace of Christ Vision Process

Our parish, Peace of Christ, began in 2007 with the joining together of St. Ambrose, St. James and St. John the Evangelist. As the first step in forging our new, shared identity we developed the following mission statement to put into words how we perceive our purpose:

The Peace of Christ calls us to create a Christian community where God is found in the beauty and joy of our worship, in the breadth of our outreach, and in our love for one another.

During 2008-2009 we seek to involve all of our parishioners in envisioning our future: developing a vision statement of what we want to be and to do to help us to focus our efforts and energy over the next several years. What follows is the process we are undertaking:

Vision Statement Timeline
November/December 2008 a wide variety of focus groups will address the four “reflection/discussion questions” and give input into the vision for Peace of Christ
January/February 2009

•  representatives from each focus group will meet to summarize what has been shared
•  a writing team will prepare a draft vision statement which will be presented to parishioners for their suggestions

March 2009 a revised draft vision statement will go to the pastoral council for additional input
April 2009 the final vision statement will be crafted and presented to the parish
May 2009 forward goals and objectives that will help us to become the community are identified below
